Antique Dial Recorder Time Clock IBM International Time Recorder Oak Cast Iron
Let me start off by saying I actually know very little about this piece but will tell what I know, what the previous owner had written down and will answer questions if anyone has any the very best I can. This is a cast iron and 2 piece oak cabinet IBM / International Time Recorder Co. Dial recorder time clock dating back to the first quarter of the 1900’s. This piece is probably in as good a shape as any you would find mainly because of the previous owner having worked on these pieces when he was with IBM in the 1950’s. This is a model 0690-1 with serial number 510928. This model had the capacity for keeping legal time records for up to 100 employees who would use their personal assigned numbers to punch in and out on the dial wheel recorder which would then transfer the punch onto an internal ledger which would then be removed daily or weekly to then transfer the time to the time keepers ledger book. It is a 2 piece cabinet with 2 bolts which hold the top clock part to the lower oak cabinet. The actual oak cabinet part measures right at 19″ deep, 17.5″ wide and together the entire clock stands right at 67 tall. There is a door that opens on either side of the clock with a section of the door that is glass. You can see one of the doors open in one of the pictures. There is a 110 volt impulse unit inside the bottom of the clock cabinet to drive the time movement. The oak cabinets, the exterior parts of the clock and the inner workings seem to be in great shape and quite clean which does not surprise me considering the pride the previous owner took in this piece. I have pictured part of a letter he write some time ago that perhaps can give more detail than I can. If anyone desires more pictures, more information please ask and I will do my best to answer them. This is a very HEAVY clock and you would need a couple guys to lift. 2 If you wanted to arrange a shipper and pay the shipper I would get the 2 pieces shrink wrapped good and deliver to a shipper in this area anywhere from the Raleigh/Durham area down to the Fayetteville, N. This is about all I can provide right now but please ask and questions you may have. I think you can tell pretty much by the pictures the condition of the clock.
